Hi Dennis,
I'm glad you are finding Jalview useful, but I am not really sure what you are
trying to do. Please join the jalview-dev mailing list (see www.jalview.org
for details) and post your question there since more of the Jalview community
will see it and someone may be able to help.

I've taken the liberty of posting this message to the list for you, but if you
join you will be able to see the reply.

Kind regards,

Geoff

Subject: our problem with JalView 2.8

Dear Prof. Barton,

We are having much difficulty subsequently using the available "copy consensus"
output after successfully copying and pasting it into Excel. We were wondering
if there is some unrecognized (on our part) interactive Excel problem that
others have found or that you might advise us of, or of any options we might
try to remedy our failure to find a cause or solution? We have reinstalled,
tried different file extensions before pasting, routes or conversions of the
consensus, other variations.....all to no avail. What we need is an amino acid
consensus of our successful Muscle alignment in JalView. Frankly, we are quite
at a loss. Your help or referral would be most gratefully appreciated.

It would be extraordinarily difficult for us to recover if we could not use
JalView. Thank you,

J. Dennis Pollack, Ph.D.
