Dear Jalviewers!

We've just released version 2.10.4b1 at
www.jalview.org<http://www.jalview.org>, and it will shortly also be available
for install via bioconda.

This patch release includes critical bug fixes for Uniprot sequence data
retrieval, interactive SVG graphic export, and flatfile import of 'new'-style
Clustal Omega alignment files.

It also includes fixes for problems specific to Windows users: URL drag'n'drop
now works for most browsers (but Edge and Internet Explorer still have minor
issues), Windows '.lnk' files are now properly handled, and Jalview should now
be able to locate UCSF Chimera if it installed under its default location in
C:\Program Files.

For full information, please see Jalview 2.10.4b1's release notes, and the
corresponding issues at https://issues.jalview.org/

Lastly, thanks to all the attendees of our training courses in Liverpool and
Lille last month. Many of the bugs addressed in this patch release were
reported by dedicated Jalview training course delegates, and like them, please
don't hesitate to get in contact if you find a bug or have a feature request!

All the best from Dundee,

Jim, Mungo, Suzanne and Geoff.
