I agree on alpha vs beta version compatibility.  This will definitely be an
alpha, even though I think the code is pretty stable at this point.

And you're right... the things I list are all non-critical, but I have some
time and am planning to do the release work this weekend, so if I can get it
squeezed in, so much the better. :)
