Attached is a patch that is intended to give James administrators more control over idle timeouts and the maximum number of allowed connections. This should alleviate the problems some users were seeing with "instantaneous" timeouts when they attempted to connect using RemoteManager connections or POP3 connections with a network lag. Please note that this work is based both on Peter Donald's DefaultConnectionManager and Andrei Ivanov's patch (submitted to james-dev). Comments, critiques, etc. are welcome. I hope to follow this up shortly with the remainder of the service patch I've been promising for a while, which should nicely unify with this. --Peter
