I've been hunting for a good Java SMTP server with the ability to plug in transformation components and James is the best I've come across although it has "a few" more features than I need. A modified version of the remote delivery Mailet seems like the place to start. Is this a mad idea? Anything I've overlooked? Might anyone else want this capability?
