People have reported a minute or two lag time in both the 1.2.1 and 2.0a1 release because of a failure to "wake" the thread that's watching a given spool. The 60 seconds sleep time is not configurable at the moment. We hope we'll be able to patch this bug (rather than configuring the sleep time, although that might be useful in any case).
