I'm trying to do the same on Win2K Server. When I use the example batch file I get the message about the service installing successfully - however when I try to use the service looks like James is not running. The test I'm using is as follows - startup outlook express and try connecting to the local account. With James run from command line (using the run.bat), outlook express connects With James run as service , outlook express fails to connect.
