Unfortunately the website was actually updated just a few minutes before I had committed some additional questions, including the classpath one (although it's not that great of an answer).
Yes, it would be nicer to actually make it more user-friendly, and while Avalon provides what we have now, we're still allowed to create our own classloaders for mailets and matchers.
