I don't know if anything has been done under the James project, but since
James is a server for the SMTP and POP3 protocols, any client of James
(including JSP/Servlets) is simply going to be a SMTP/POP3 client. We are
not talking about a proprietory protocol here. Servlet/JSP base webmail
clients are pretty common. I suggest you look around in places like
sourceforge. The Jetspeed project also had a go at a webmail client a
while back - I don't know how far they got.

Of course, if you are dead set on writing your own webmail client, that's
another matter. There is always room for one more (a bit of competition is
healthy). What you want to do is do something that the other projects
don't do. Perhaps a Cocoon2-based client, or a Jetspeed-based client?

Cheers

Hey,

I'm curious as to the status of web based email on James. I'm am thinking
of writing my own set of servlets/jsps to interface with James for web
based email and wanted to see if this has already been done/started before
I get halfway through it.
