Hi, I'm running:
James v2.0a2 NT v4.0 SP6a Java v1.3.0_02 It's been running OK for a while, but a lot of email has been collecting in the "outgoing" folder, though some messages have been delivered just fine. Today, a message finally got through from an admin at Spamcop.net (I use them to help filter out SPAM). Here's a snippet from his message to me: ***** Guys, I'm getting pounded by spam from 66.92.129.218. I'm getting an inbound connection every second and this has been going on since yesterday. You've got a problem on this machine, an open relay, an open proxy, something. Can you investigate and get to the bottom of this please? Here's just the last couple seconds of my logs: 2002-04-24 13:03:44.069887500 qmail-smtpd: pid 19775 from 66.92.129.218 Non-exis ting DNS_MX: MAIL FROM:<[EMAIL PROTECTED]> 2002-04-24 13:03:44.271008500 qmail-smtpd: pid 19777 from 66.92.129.218 Non-exis ting DNS_MX: MAIL FROM:<[EMAIL PROTECTED]> 2002-04-24 13:03:44.481761500 qmail-smtpd: pid 19779 from 66.92.129.218 Non-exis ting DNS_MX: MAIL FROM:<[EMAIL PROTECTED]> 2002-04-24 13:03:44.687785500 qmail-smtpd: pid 19783 from 66.92.129.218 Non-exis ting DNS_MX: MAIL FROM:<[EMAIL PROTECTED]> 2002-04-24 13:03:44.889125500 qmail-smtpd: pid 19785 from 66.92.129.218 Non-exis ting DNS_MX: MAIL FROM:<[EMAIL PROTECTED]> 2002-04-24 13:03:45.162938500 qmail-smtpd: pid 19787 from 66.92.129.218 Non-exis ting DNS_MX: MAIL FROM:<[EMAIL PROTECTED]> 2002-04-24 13:03:45.364354500 qmail-smtpd: pid 19789 from 66.92.129.218 Non-exis ting DNS_MX: MAIL FROM:<[EMAIL PROTECTED]> 2002-04-24 13:03:45.621792500 qmail-smtpd: pid 19792 from 66.92.129.218 Non-exis ting DNS_MX: MAIL FROM:<[EMAIL PROTECTED]> 2002-04-24 13:03:45.825462500 qmail-smtpd: pid 19795 from 66.92.129.218 Non-exis ting DNS_MX: MAIL FROM:<[EMAIL PROTECTED]> 2002-04-24 13:03:46.027182500 qmail-smtpd: pid 19798 from 66.92.129.218 Non-exis ting DNS_MX: MAIL FROM:<[EMAIL PROTECTED]> 2002-04-24 13:03:46.237356500 qmail-smtpd: pid 19801 from 66.92.129.218 Non-exis ting DNS_MX: MAIL FROM:<[EMAIL PROTECTED]> ***** I don't know if this is a bug in James or a configuration problem at my end. I've cleared out everything in the "outgoing" folder, but I don't know if the problem has been resolved. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated. P.S. I have James forward email to me to my Spamcop account. I setup the forwarding via the telnet admin. It seems to be working fine, but there's still a folder for my account...though there's nothing in it, I wasn't sure if that could cause an issue.
