My script looks like this

JavaService.exe -install "JamesMailServer"
C:\j2sdk1.4.0\jre\bin\server\jvm.dll -Djava.ext.dirs=d:\james\lib
-Djava.class.path=d:\james\bin\phoenix-loader.jar;d:\james\bin\phoenix-e
ngine.jar; -start org.apache.avalon.phoenix.launcher.Main -out
d:\james\logs\stdout.log -err d:\james\logs\stderr.log

Let me know if this helps. I never had it prompt me for an associated
program for jvm.dll. I wonder if you have a parameter in the wrong
order. Just comp my "script" and replace one by one with your paths.
Should work. Let me know if you have any questions Mark.

Running the script, NT4 prompts that the file jvm.dll needs to be
associated with a program and prompts me to do so through My Computer.
How do I resolve that?

Mark

Steve turned me on to this. It was easy to set up and works like a
charm. Let me know if you have any questions.
