1) Xdocs are the XML source versions of the documentation. Almost all
Jakarta documentation is in that format.
2) The current execution of James on my public server has been running
non-stop since Dec 3rd. Traffic has been light, with less than 2000
messages per day.

Sounds like you are running a file system repository, and running into the
renumbering problem. If so, try the currently Nighly build, which has a fix
for exactly that issue.
