Noel, What kind of a box are you running this on and are you just running with the default James setup ? Probably our setups are not easily compared since ours is a somewhat strange project where James is just acting as a proxy and we have to make 2 database queries and 3 inserts per each mail passing through the system which probably slows us down a bit (especially since our test database is not optimized in any way).
