Got it, thank you Danny and Bill,

I tried sending and email through the Telnet and it worked. So then I checked my DNS server settings (in config.xml) and switched auto-detect IP to false. Apparently, I only realised now, if you are using IP address in the config.xml file, you have to enclose it into [ and ].

so, 192.168.0.12 should be [192.168.0.12]

Once again, thanks.
Ghulam

FWIW you can test this using telnet:

# telnet yttrium.cen.brad.ac.uk 25
HELO flub.com
250 yttrium.cen.brad.ac.uk Hello hrnt.com [216.86.194.228] (may be forged), pleased to meet you

mail from:<[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
250 2.1.0 <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>... Sender ok

rcpt to: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
250 2.1.5 <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>... Recipient ok
(expecting a 'user unknown' here to be honest :o)

data
354 Enter mail, end with "." on a line by itself
