Aloha all, I notice that Jami has a package on Guix. I have installed it but I cannot get communication to work between two users and poking around some settings (like turning on and off proxy) will make the client hang.
I do know that there are some Jami users who also use Guix, so, can I get a bit of insight into how to use it? I hope this is easier to debug given the reproducibility of Guix packages. I have gotten my account to work on Android and Alpine Linux. I have tried multiple things to get Jami working, including: - Running OpenDHT service - Changing Name server - Turning on and Off Proxy I have my Guix Jami using the settings which work on my PinePhone (Alpine Linux) Nameserver: Blank Enable local peer discovery: On Enable Proxy: Off UPnP: On TURN: On TURN Address: turn.jami.net TURN username: ring TURN password: (Default, it shows 4 dots) TURN Realm: ring I can sometimes get two accounts on the same computer to add each other when I try to add then deactivate one account, then restart Jami. But even after they add each other, they don't synchronize conversations and they appear orange on the contact list. Should I look into the Nix pkg service, flatpack or wait for an update? The Jami package is complicated enough for package transformations to not work for a simple update. Using `jami -d' produces too much output for me to know what you guys should piece together. -- Mahalo
