Dunno, but I can answer your second question.

Use "jarphar --classpath=myclasses.zip", assuming that no one has
changed that code since I last hacked on Japhar. Explicitly setting
--classpath should override all defaults (looking in the install dir,
in getenv(CLASSPATH), etc).
