This problem is already fixed in the current CVS sources of libtool
(at :pserver:[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/gd/gnu/anoncvsroot co libtool;
empty password)

libtool has (hopefully) temporarily stopped supporting this
construction. It might be working again soon, or it may be completely
disabled in the future, or available with a special command-line
argument only on systems that support it, either directly or via some
hackery.
