This is quite strange, As I use many printers from my Linux box at work and 
home with kde and lpr, and I never had this bug...

At first I thought it may come from Windows drivers, but you do not even share 
them through Samba to meet the issue ! So it's not driver related. Worst, it 
happens with kde and lpr !

Well, I don't know where it comes from. I'd like you to confirm you URIs, they 
do need to begin with "jasmine:" to get the printer accounted. Well, it must 
be the case for you, because you get hundreds of copies accounted and 
printed :-) !

Oh, I need to dig this : I never used lpr like you do to specify the number of 
copies (lpr -# ...), hence I never tried it with JASmine !
