Hi !

The fact that it is 3600 pages is no problem I think, the overhead is in creating the actual report, so I think the problem is more in the fact that you need 1200 reports, but if the report is always using the same template then you can have a pregenerated binary template and not use the XML file, this is much faster.

Generating the report itself is pretty fast and is more up the the SQL processing or whatever you are using to get the data.

I have not used it enough to give any feedback on memory leaks, but I have not seen any so far.

Mikael

Subject: [jasperreports-questions] performane question

hi guys,

i'm new here...

im just curious how many out there is using jasperreports in a web-based production environment and/or mission-ciritical systems?

I might run JasperReports for billing of at least 1200 customer, w/c will result in at a minimum of 3 pages per customer. so that will be 3600 page reports, this will be done twice a month. how do you think JasperReports will scale up? has any one experience any memory leak?

any gotcha's that i might expect if I use JasperReports?

thanks & more power,

Richard
