Compiling JServ as a DSO on RHL 5.2

I have RedHat 5.2, which comes with Apache 1.3.3 compiled with DSO
and installed in /usr/sbin

How do I compile mod_jserv.so to work with it? I can't get the configure
script that comes with jserv to recognize the bundled version of Apache.
