ajp11 error - need help

I'm running Apache 1.3.3 with Jserv 1.0b2.  Quite frequently my session
gets reset and looking at the jserv.log file I see:

[date] (EMERGENCY) ajp11: cannot scan servlet headers

The JVM is then restarted.  What does this error mean and what can I do to
correct the situation?
