It's likely that the user was looking in 'src/'; there is a 'Configure' in
'src/', and if you run it, you will be able to build JServ (because the
autogenerated header file is created).  But you won't have a
'config.status' ... if you go that route, instead of using
'config.status', you'll need to edit Configuration and rerun Configure. 
I'll update the installation instructions to make this a bit clearer. 

Ed, who generally builds w/ Configure rather than configure.
