Hi all,
(sorry if this is a newbie question, but I am one, and I've tried to find
the answer in FAQs and other places...)
I downloaded and installed JServ 1.0b5 on a Linux system (Redhat 5.2) with
Blackdown Java JDK 1.1.7v1a, JSDK 2.0 and Apache 1.3.6 without problem.
When I try to start Apache after the installation, I get the following
message:
"apachectl start: httpd could not be started"

When I check the error_log I find:
"[Mon May 31 11:40:56 1999] [crit] (2)No such file or directory: Apache
JServ encountered a fatal error; check your ApJServLogFile for details if
none are present in this file. Exiting."

A look in the ApJServLogFile (mod_jserv.log by default, right?) yields:
"[31/05/1999 11:40:56:919] (ERROR) an error returned initializing protocol
"wrapper"
[31/05/1999 11:40:56:920] (ERROR) in init all protocols "wrapper" returned
an error
[31/05/1999 11:40:56:920] (EMERGENCY) Error initializing protocols"

So, does anyone know what is going on? I have checked access right settings
on all files related to Java, JServ, JSDK and Apache and there are no
conflicts. And, yes, Apache worked fine before I installed JServ, and still
does if I set the ApJServManual config directive to on.

What's the story?
Cheers,
/Andreas
