Hi James,
I had also faced the same problem once. And yes, it
indeed was looking for some other httpd.conf. You
can open the bin/apachectl in editor and check which
httpd.conf it is referring to. If its the wrong one
you can correct the path there.(make sure that the
path of pid file is also correct.)
