I'm running RedHat 6.0, and I'm having the darnedest time installing
mod_jserv.
This is what I did:
I installed the JSDK 2.0 in /usr/local/Java.
I got the JServ 1.0 distribution and put it in /usr/local/src.
I uninstalled Apache (with "rpm -e apache"), because the version
bundled with RedHat appears not to have DSO support. Then, I obtained
the i686 binary distribution of Apache from apache.org, which does
appear to have DSO support, and installed in in /usr/local/apache.
Now, I'm having many configuration and installation difficulties,
which I'll be happy to post in detail unless someone can let me know
that I'm doing something very obviously wrong; for example, is it
necessary to have a source distribution of Apache instead of the
binary which I'm using?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
