I hope you find a solution. Could it be that DSO does not work on your
platform? On my Solaris 2.6 box, with the library patch, DSO will not work
at all and gives a very similar error. Here's the error (with mod_perl as
a loadable module).
Syntax error on line 202 of /servers/httpd/conf/httpd.conf:
Cannot load /servers/httpd/libexec/libperl.so into server: ld.so.1:
/servers/httpd/bin/httpd: fatal: relocation error: file
/servers/httpd/libexec/libperl.so: symbol main: referenced symbol not
found
Finally after wasting weeks and no help from the mod_perl list (others
were having the same problem too!) I gave up on DSO apache on solaris 2.6.
Works fine on all my linux servers though.
