to be fair, GSP is really not bein actively maintained either.

I think the tentative plan is to wait until Josper gets going (what's the
story there?), and then merge in some of the internals of GSP into josper
(like multiple compiler support, auto URL rewriting).  

The extensions that GSP had (Form, Mailer, Scheduler, caching) would
become a separate project and released as a library that could be used
with any JSP implementation.

The goal is to not duplicate the work happening with Josper, but still
providing a project for folks who want to share libraries and goodies that
the JSP spec doesn't cover.

I'd like to get this happening, but I've been waiting for sun to release
the JSP source.
