next time try to look at ps results, and tell us is httpd is really
working or not.
did you try to hit a static page ? was the java side still running ?

No, no and no ! Apache on Linux rocks.
Mod_jserv runs on lot of PCs withLinux, and is maybe not 100% bug free
;-), but should work
but try to answer the above questions and let us know.
