Got Linux? Seeing lots of java processes?
<http://java.apache.org/faq/?file=274>
----------------------------------------------------
I am using Linux 2.0.32 (RH5.0) with Blackdown Java 1.1.3 and Apache
1.3.9 and JServ 1.1b. These first two are a little old, but....
When I start up apache and jserv, and do nothing (i.e. do not request
any servlets or web pages), the java process slowly eats up memory
(it increases in size 4-8k per 5 second 'top' update).
This came to my attention after a day of development and this process
was 178M in size, for a jserv which consisted of one simple servlet
being worked on during this period. Is this a function of the (old)
Java I have or the (old) Linux kernal i have, or is it a jserv problem
that others have experienced?
thanks,
glen
