So the culprit may not be Java or apache, it could be your code.

I'm starting to blame it on my ODBC drivers.  They say on the box they
aren't really for Java.  They ran beautifully with perl.  I will talk to the
developers though - they would be interested to hear it might be there code,
I am sure.  ;)
