Don't make us guess your problem!!! ---------------------------------------------------------------- Hi, I also found the the similiar problem (port listen) when I use the IBM JDK 1.1.8 on my Linux Mandrake 6.1. But what I used to test is the Sun's JSWDK 1.0.1 and Tomcat. When I use ./startserver to run the server, it simply crashes. Then I fall back in using Blackdown JDK 1.1.7v3, it runs fine! What i can conclude is: <There may be some problems in using IBM's JDK 1.1.8 on Mandrake 6.1.> There are numerous bugs found related to Mandrake 6.1 w/IBMJDK1.1.8, please read the newsgroup at: news://news.software.ibm.com/ibm.software.java.linux I am quite impressed that the IBM's JDK and Jikes (I used to complied for my JServ 1.1b3) are really damn fast, however, it is buggy... I've read this list for 3 months, and this is the first time I post message to the list.
