Don't make us guess your problem!!! ---------------------------------------------------------------- Hi: I am trying to gather some information for a production environment consisting of the following: Software: Apache-1.3.9 JServ 1.1b3 (Note: where do I get the daily build) Solaris 2.7 for App server, Linux RH6.1 for Web Server Sun 1.1.8_09 JVM I have configured the environment as a load-balancing set of Solaris application servers (servlets). So far it works pretty well. I was hoping to answer the following quiestions: 1. Which Solaris JVM is best for speed, multi-processor usage (4 CPU e450 and 2 2 CPU e250), stability? How does the JDK118_09 compare with JDK121_04? 2. What system tuning parameters have people used? I am referencing (http://www.netscape.com/eng/server/webserver/4.0/tuning/perf.htm#1019260). Any other tips? 3. Is the thread pool feature of JServ 1.1b3 ready for a production environment? My goals are to increase throughput on a high demand site and to make the system stable. Any thoughts on people using a similar configuration. My results on my first cut are: 200 simultaneous clients / 10 reqs per client - throughput = ~25 req/s.
