AFAIK, Tomcat uses the jserv protocol to proxy
requests to the Tomcat servlet engine unaltered. In
theory, it's uncoupled so you should be able to use
Tomcat and JServ's own servlet engine together on the
same web server.
A friend told me this: I haven't done it myself. He
got Tomcat up and running with JServ. He reported he
was able to do 80 reqs /sec with a simple "HelloWorld"
servlet on Tomcat, somewhat slower than JServ.
