I have Apache 1.3.9, which came with Linux. I have tried JDK 1.1.7 and 1.1.8. I installed JServ from the RPM. I get the error that I do not have permission to view http://localhost/jserv/ and my VM keeps dying. I have changed the permissions of all of the directories and it still doesn't work.
