I would suggest that you
contrive a debugging test harness that simulates the servlet environment --
in fact, it's not too tough to invoke the servlet directly by implementing
your own very minimal context, request and response objects. Good luck.

OK, I've done that, and it works fine using the servlet server classes
provided by jbuilder.
We can invoke the servlet as much as we want using the jbuilder server
classes, so I suspect that there may be something going on with the way
jserv works with servlets using native code. I'm pretty sure this is the
case, because everything is fine as soon as jserv is not in the frame. I
rather suspect that is is something specifically to do with native code that
makes use of microsoft com, so it may be quite a rare occurrence.
If anyone has information about/experience with this, I'd really like to
hear it.
We don't have much experience at middle/low level development (like that
involved in developing apache/jserv) so getting the code and trying to debug
it is a last resort, and any pointers at all are very, very welcome.
