well, sometimes problems solve on their own (e.g. the cause gets clearer)
the problem is (as far as we found out) that we installed the apache 1.3.11, which
obviously has a problem in cooperating
with the JServ load balancing - we had those awful messages in the server log:
> [25/01/2000 03:52:38:034] (ERROR) balance: virtual host not found or not running
>
> [25/01/2000 03:52:38:034] (ERROR) an error returned handling request via
> protocol "balance"
and didnt get rid of it -only by switching off the load balancing.
Now we installed an apache 1.3.9, used the same configuration and everything works
fine!
Maybe someone at apache could hav a look at it?
