Actually, there is no difference between the servlets running on the Sun
Java Web Server/Windows and the Apache/Jserv instance. The JDK is 1.2.2, not
1.1.2 (typo there, sorry). There are no errors on the Java side. Basically,
we are moving a production environment from Windows/Sun Java Web to
Apache/Jserv.
Some more specific information: When you search for identical names in the
database (part of the servlet functionality), the Apache/Jserv takes around
3-6 seconds longer to return the data than the Sun Java Web Server/Windows.
This is not a "My computer is slow" problem; the lag shows up on multiple
browsers. Any HTML served from Apache loads just as fast as the Windows
server. It is only when accessing the Java that the speed problem arises.
Hope this is enough information. I am not a Java programmer, so I cannot put
debugging statements in anything. I am the Linux admin.
