---------------------------------------------------------------- BEFORE YOU POST, search the faq at <http://java.apache.org/faq/> WHEN YOU POST, include all relevant version numbers, log files, and configuration files. Don't make us guess your problem!!! ---------------------------------------------------------------- Hello, I have Linux Mandrake 6.1 JSDK 2.0 JDK 1.1.8 Apache 1.3.12 (rpm) Apache JServ 1.1.1 (rpm) Apache is working ok (serving normal .html), but I cannot make ApacheJServ serve the examples (IsItWorking, Hello or jserv/). After studying a lot the installation and configuration files, I am persuaded that the problem must be somewhere else. A symptom makes me think it must be something substantial, not subtle: in fact, I see that jserv.log is not even present (although /etc/httpd/logs/ is chown root.nobody and chmod 664). I begin thinking that installing Apache from the binary rpm may be the problem; I do not understand very well the DSO mechanism, but I am afraid that my Apache server, as it is, cannot launch the Jserv. Do I need to recompile Apache with the proper options or it is enough to enable the right lines in the httpd.conf? I'll go through one more check in the *.conf and *.properties while waiting for your answer.
