Try searching for 'chkproc' on Freshmeat, it should do auto detection and
autio restart + email notification...

Hi folks.

Does anyone have a nice script to check Jserv is running, and if not
restart it? Something to add to my crontab.

Also, while people are comparing Servlets runners etc...

I used to run JavaWebserver 1.1.x and all the updates and then JWS 2.0 and
the patches on 2 machines running my ecommerce servlet. It was an ok
system but just not reliable enough. in fact it was a pain in the ass.
Now I have changed to JServ and APache about 6 months or so ago... the
thing just runs and runs ... noone calls me to restart the server
anymore.. I can sleep!! WONDERFUL!!!

Same hardware and same JDK/JSDK (JWS 2.x and Jserv) same OS... in fact the
very same machine... Apache and JServ are puttng me out of a job!

Chris
