I've got two Apache systems running on RedHat Linux installations. One the
new RedHat 6.2 installation the applet works fine, but on the RedHat 6.1
installation I get the following errors in the log:
( MOD_JSERV Log )
10:55:34:234] (ERROR) ajp12: Servlet Error: java.lang.NullPointerException:
null
[10/07/2000 10:55:34:235] (ERROR) an error returned handling request via
protocol "ajpv12"
( JSERV.LOG )
09:55:34:040 GMT+00:00] <servletLog> oppsplanTS.OppsplanTS: started
[10/07/2000 09:55:34:238 GMT+00:00] <servletException>

org.apache.jserv.JServConnection.processRequest(JServConnection.java:317)
at org.apache.jserv.JServConnection.run(JServConnection.java:188)
at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:475)
Both servers are running
Apache 1.3.12-2
ApacheJServ 1.1.2
Sun JRE 1.2.2
Both servers - Apache and JServ config files are identical as far as
parameters are concerned (except for servername/IP addresses of course)
The only difference is the kernel, where RedHat 6.2 runs on 2.14-5.0 while
RedHat 6.1 is on 2.12-20, at least as far as Apache is concerned.
Would the Linux kernel version have any impact on JServ? I cannot find any
other reason why the servlet should work on one server and fail on the other
as long as the applications running are the same version and the config is
identical?
I hope some one on this list might be able to help.
