I cannot address the other two as my Java knowledge is non-existent
(dumb admin, you know). In the case of the 'cannot connect to host'
error, I would suggest hard coding the IP of the machine in the
jserv.properties and jserv.conf. I had the same problem using
'localhost' but the problem was fixed with the referenced IP.
