Socket Problems

When I restart Apache I often encounter the following error in error_log:   ApacheJServ/1.1: Exception creating the server socket: java.net.BindException: Address already in use     Can anybody share some light as to why this happens and how I can kill the existing socket.   I haven't seen anything in the config that relates to socket connection timeouts, are there any parameters I can set to get around the problem such as a socket timeout?     Thanks Con
