After posting REALLY long answers in the exam (20K each --- but they should be
legal), I got the following
response:
-----------------------------------------------
Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to
complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, root@localhost and inform them of the time
the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the
error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

The jserv.log
said

[23/07/2000 13:17:45:395] (EMERGENCY) ajp12[1]: cannot scan servlet headers (500)
[23/07/2000 13:17:45:395] (ERROR) an error returned handling request via protocol
"ajpv12"

When I decreased the size of the responses to about
1K each, the servlet ran, but truncated the data. Also, the web page it
generated contained material from ANOTHER web page that had just been
displayed (via SSI). Is it possible that some buffer is overflowing?
