My final (OT) post on this...when we had this problem, the CPU actually
went to 100% (NT server 4.0, Sp6). To test the theory a program
was written that did nothing but call the garbage collector every
30 seconds. Watching the CPU meter in the task manager showed a
spike every 30 seconds.

There may be other reasons why this is happening with Jserv, but
this is one thing I noticed with Java (1.1, haven't tried with 2) and
NT.
