I'm installing Apache-Jserv on virgin RH6.2 (regular Apache [1.3.12-2]
was loaded at OS installation time). Following the JServ FAQ on
platforms, I have installed:
apache-devel-1.3.12-2.i386.rpm from the RH CD-ROM
jre-1.1.7_v3-1_glibc_x86.i386.rpm via fr.romfind.net
jdk-1.1.7_v3-1_glibc_x86.i386.rpm ditto
because apache-jserv-1.0fc1-0.i386.rpm made Kpackage say
there was an unsatisfied dependency for jdk 1.1.7
After installing jdk-1.1.7_v3-1_glibc_x86.i386.rpm, Kpackage
*still* says that there is an unsatisfied dependency for jdk = 1.1.7
Is this a bug in the labelling of the jdk package file, or a bug in
the labelling of the apache-jserv file? RPM reports the same as
Kpackage...
# rpm -q jdk
jdk-1.1.7_v3-1_glibc_x86
# rpm -hvi apache-jserv-1.0fc1-0.i386.rpm
error: failed dependencies:
jdk = 1.1.7 is needed by apache-jserv-1.0fc1-0
#
One of them is lying :-) Anyone know how to resolve this?
