Linux System Administrator
*Location: Albany, NY*
***Duration: 12 months** *
*Minimum Qualifications:*
Seven years of progressive data processing experience in a large-scale Open
Systems server environment with at least five full years of this experience
functioning as a SUSE Linux administrator.
A Bachelor's or equivalent degree is required.
At least two years of this experience spent administering servers attached
to a large, Enterprise-class Storage Area Network.
(Linux) System Administrator Specialist 2
- Excellent knowledge of the administration and troubleshooting
requirements of at least one flavor of Linux.
- Knowledge of the administration of Linux on IBM Mainframes is highly
desirable.
- Administration experience with SUSE Linux is required.
- A minimum of two years of Perl scripting is required.
- Good knowledge of how to remotely access and manage servers from an
off-site location.
- Technical Certification in SUSE Linux is highly desirable.
- Thorough knowledge of how to support and administer VMWare solutions.
- Knowledge of data replication tools such as Data Guard, RAC is
desirable.
- Good knowledge of database software installation, configuration and
maintenance, specifically Oracle is highly desirable.
