Position: AS 400 Lead Developer Duration: 12 months Location: Towson MD Rate: $35/hr (Not Negotiable) AS/400 Technical Lead /Senior Applications Developer to work on site with the project team to perform application development, support activities and requirements gathering. Project Goal: Provide application development and support activities for the AS/400. Provide functional analysis on several access databases. Gather and document functional requirements for new application for the Department of Social Services. Examples of Duties: Performs computer programming and analysis work, using structured analysis, design, and programming techniques, in the development, maintenance, and enhancement of automated informational systems and programming applications. Analyzes proposed and existing automated procedures and applications. Develops detailed design and program specifications, including flow charts, form designs, record layouts, code definitions, and decision tables. Assists in the development, installation, and use of system and software upgrades, enhancements, and additions. Participates in the planning and installation of hardware configurations. Prepares and writes computer language programs and utilities. Gives assistance to programmers and other programmer analysts in the development, testing, and modification of programming applications. Analyzes production system problems and develops specifications for problem resolutions. Prepares time and cost estimates for user requests. Develops written instructions for operations personnel. Experience /Skills Required: Bachelors Degree preferably in Business, MIS or related field. Minimum of five (5) years developing and modifying applications using Cobol, RPG, AS/400 Query, CL, DDS and PDM (tools for the 400), VB Script and Access.
