May also entertain candidates in other locations if skillets are the right match **** LOCAL CANDIDATES PREFERRED ***** SOLARIS/LINUX Administrator- Provides expert technical support and consultation for operating systems. Conducts and coordinates the analysis, planning, and implementation of systems software and/or hardware. Analyzes, designs, codes, tests, debugs, maintains, modifies, and documents operating systems. Defines systems software and/or hardware requirements and determines system specifications and customizations. Participates in the design of subsystems and integration of total systems. Identifies and resolves complex systems problems. May direct the work of less experienced staff. Minimum Experience: 4 yr degree plus 5-7 yrs exp *SOLARIS/LINUX ENGINEER:* *MAY BE REQUIRED TO WORK VARIOUS SHIFTS TO INCLUDE WEEKENDS, HOLIDAYS, AND ON-CALL SUPPORT WHENEVER 24/7 OPERATIONS DICTATE. JOB DESCRIPTION: Open position for a senior level Solaris/Linux administrator with experience working in a large, complex IT infrastructure(s). Ideal candidate is a highly motivated self-starter and committed team player with strong verbal and written communication and analytical skills. REQUIRED SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE: · 6 years experience building and supporting *Solaris 8, 9 &10 on Sun Sparc Midrange platforms* · 6 years experience building and supporting either *SUSE or RedHat Linux* · 5 years experience Host / SAN connectivity (required on both Linux and Solaris) · 5 years experience supporting *Veritas FS, VM, VCS and CFS *(Must have experience in Veritas Clustering Suite) 3 years experience with *Dell, HP or IBM* blade servers · 2 years experience configuring Solaris Zones Experience and working knowledge of *Kickstart and Jumpstart* PREFERRED BUT NOT REQUIRED: Some working knowledge of Oracle RAC / ASM Apache, Tomcat, Weblogic, JBoss and other middleware related applications Shell scripting (Ksh, bash, or sh) Experience with Remedy or other ticketing systems.
