I have a new requirement for a Java Developer WITH FINANCIAL experience, located in Jersey City, NJ. It is projected to last 12 months with the potential for extension. Rate: $45/hr *Java Developer; Equities Trading Systems for one of our top financial clients*. The position is for a developer within the Client Connectivity organization. Responsibilities include the architecture, design, and implementation *of FIX order routing and monitoring applications*. The person will be responsible for delivering technology that provides a competitive advantage to the business. The person in this role will be key for product software implementation, delivery, and maintenance. The position will afford the candidate the opportunity to acquire a comprehensive understanding of global electronic order routing. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: * Understand the business strategy completely * Establish partnership with various technology teams which enable the delivery of this project. * Provide quality product and service to clients * Establish ownership of key components of various applications by designing, implementing, and making sure any enhancements to them are consistent with the design guideline. QUALIFICATIONS: * Demonstrated ability to design, build, and implements server side using Java 1.5 and higher. * Build server components that communicate with other application via messaging protocols like *TIBCO EMS.* * At least 4-6 years of *core Java, at least 2 years* of which should be with *Equity Trading Systems* development. * At least 2 years of development at major financial firms. * At least 2 years of Multi-threaded, high performance, low latency applications. * Good knowledge of *FIX, XML & SQL.* * Good understanding of *Equities business knowledge is a plus.* * Good understanding of software delivery lifecycle (*SDLC*).
