Job description: *Role: Sr. Oracle DBA* Location: Irvine, CA Duration: 4+months (F2F interview must only locals) Required skills: Administers, maintains, develops and implements policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the company database. Implements data models and database designs, data access and table maintenance codes; resolves database performance issues, database capacity issues, replication, and other distributed data issues.May require a bachelor's degree in a related area and 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision; typically reports to a manager. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Requirements: * 10+ years relevant experience in two or more of the following areas: Database Administration, RDBMS design and development, and client/server application. * High volume, high transaction previous experience essential. * Experience with On-line, 24x7 operations is essential. * Experience with Oracle 10G RAC & ASM Administration required (Solaris & Linux platforms desired) * Experience with Dataguard (physical and logical standby) is a must. * Oracle 9i or 10g certifications strongly preferred. * Strong knowledge of SQL, and PL/SQL. * Experience designing and implementing high availability solutions (RAC). * Experience with tuning and optimizing database performance (Oracle 9i and/or 10G). * Knowledge of Teradata RDBMS and Microstrategy a plus * Experience with OLAP technologies desired. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills. * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, System Engineering, or equivalent experience. * Works independently as part of a team, including cross functional teams.
